Definitely citric acid should be avoided as it is derived from Aspergillus. Its confusing because citric acid is naturally found in citrus fruits but once it is removed from the fruit its molecular structure is ruined and they cannot successfully use it as citric acid in its natural state. So they add various chemicals to an extraction they get from Aspergillus mold and it mimics the natural version found in citrus. So yes, totally avoid this.
