Simple and easy chopped eggs make a great protein pick me up anytime of the day. Eat them alone or serve with approved fruits or our sage breakfast sausage and a morning herbal tea.
For this easy recipe we will follow my good 'ole tried and true recipe of boiling eggs that is included in all 8 Phazes of recipes. After we boil them there is just a few extra added ingredients and they are done.
KITCHEN ITEMS YOU'LL NEED
Stainless steel saucepan
About 1/2 gallon of Filtered water (both for boiling and rinsing)
INGREDIENTS
6-8 pasture raised chicken eggs (I usually serve 2 per person)
GrassFed Butter
About 4 cups of filtered water
About 2-4 cups of filtered water (set aside or BETTER YET, refrigerated) to rinse the eggs once they are done.
Celtic Sea salt OR Himalayan Pink salt
*Cayenne Pepper - is optional. Avoid black peppercorns during Phazes 3-7. Once you've gone through the entire 11 months of the first parts of the PhazeMoldDiet I do believe it is ok to re-introduce black pepper into the diet.
DIRECTIONS - Below
One question often asked is "Can I eat eggs on the PhazeMoldDiet?"
Yes if:
You are not allergic to them
ONLY if the eggs are from "pasture -raised" chickens OR from "heirloom" chickens.
The number of hard-boiled eggs I've cooked in a lifetime has to be nearing the millions, well maybe an exaggeration, but eggs were always a part of my diet all my life. Eggs can trigger allergies in some and eggs can also contain mold if they come from chickens that are unhealthy. You can read my article HERE on the details about eating "only pasture raised" eggs from chickens on the mold diet.
The trick to "PERFECT" hard-boiled eggs every single time
When you are hard-boiling eggs there is only two things you need to remember:
COLD START - Never start by submerging your eggs in cold water.
HOT START - ALWAYS submerge your eggs only "after" your water becomes hot and a full boil.
It's that simple.
Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs
KITCHEN ITEMS YOU'LL NEED
INGREDIENTS
2 cups Filtered water for every 6 eggs
Pasture-Raised Eggs only (As many as you need or are going to use)
Grassfed Butter or Ghee (Depending on the flavor you like)
Dash of Celtic Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt
*Organic Cayenne pepper is optional if you want a little zest to the eggs.
INSTRUCTIONS
Turn stovetop on medium to high heat
Place Stainless Steel saucepan on burner
Pour water into the saucepan and boil for approximately 6-8 minutes until you see bubbles.
Using a spoon, slowly lower each egg into the boiling water one at a time.
Boil eggs for exactly 15 minutes
Immediately drain the boiling water from the pot and leave the eggs in.
Rinse the eggs with cold water in the saucepan until the pan is cold to the touch.
Peel and rinse eggs.
Peeling should come off very easily (because you used the "hot start" method)
CHOPPED EGGS INSTRUCTIONS
Once the eggs are boiled and peeled separate your eggs into each person's bowl or plate.
Place approximately 1 tablespoon of butter onto each of the plates/bowls over top of the eggs.
Sprinkle with a dash of sea salt and cayenne
ENJOY!!
